GiDue and Praxair
cut anilox lead times
An alliance between GiDue and Praxair Surface Technologies means that customers of the Italian press manufacturer receive their anilox rolls within one to two weeks. Praxair produces the GiDue anilox rollers at its facility in Novara, west of Milan, to serve international customers. The factory’s location is not far from GiDue’s manufacturing plant, hence the shorter-than-average lead time for anilox rolls. Stocks are maintained in four standard widths ready for engraving to meet customers’ specifications. It manufactures the rolls using various methods and includes lightweight sleeves and non-metallic composites. The actual engraving is carried out with either a CO2 or YAG laser, depending on the engraving specification.
“There are many excellent anilox printing roll suppliers that operate on an international scale as we do,” says Cristina Toffolo, GiDue’s managing director. “However, we found that the product specifications and supporting documentation from various suppliers were not identical and sometimes confusing. This move means we can offer our customers standardization and quicker and better service.”
